NCAA Read to the Final Four: The Elite Eight!

Hi guys. The following schools have made it to the "Elite Eight" in HISD's "Read to the Final Four" in partnership with the NCAA. HPL is excited to be a part of this program, and we want to keep encouraging the kids who are using their Learning Link library cards to keep reading!

 

1.       Dogan Elementary School /Fifth Ward Library

2.       Carrillo Elementary School/Stanaker Library

3.       Anderson Elementary School /Meyer Library

4.       Tijerina Elementary School /Stanaker Library

5.       Browning Elementary School /Heights Library

6.       Marshall Elementary School /Scenic Woods Library

7.       Kennedy Elementary School /Oak Forest Library

8.       Janowski Elementary School /Moody Library

 

The library closest to each school is included above.  I am sure Marjorie will be sending out updated 11x17 brackets for you to post soon. For now please make sure your book displays are fresh, you have plenty of bookmarks to hand out, and you are encouraging the students who are coming  to your library to be checking out books and doing lots of reading so they can make it to the FINAL FOUR!  If you are planning to do outreach soon, please be sure to drop by these schools to congratulate the students and teachers and offer to help them find more great books as they read to succeed!
